Holly is the main artery through downtown Bellingham. Starting at Holly and Ellis, if you travel 24 MPH you will make every stop light non-stop to Bay Street. That’s seven lights. Big-time kudos to Bellingham’s traffic engineering department.

Bellingham’s Fishing Fleet

Commercial fishing in Bellingham is anchored in Squalicum Harbor, serving as a hub for local Puget Sound, tribal, and Alaskan salmon and crab fleets. Though the fleet size has declined significantly since the 1970s, it remains a working waterfront supporting local jobs, with infrastructure including the Fishermen’s Pavilion at Zuanich Point Park

Summer rewind 2025

I got the idea for this site about a year ago. I started taking photos and finding stories starting in June, but I didn’t get around to posting my content until now. So for those of you longing for Bellingham’s stunning summers, here are a few reminders of what was and what will be in another six months.

The John Hancock Building

Topping out in 1969 at 100 stories even and 1,127 feet, The John Hancock Building is an architectural landmark in Chicago.

CTA Red Line

The early tracks of the Red Line were laid down in 1900. The Red Line is the major north/south line in the city and is also the most popular carrying 250,000 passengers each day Monday through Friday. Today the Red Line runs 23 miles between 95th Street/Dan Ryan to the south, to the Howard stop, the northernmost station of the line. The Red Line has 33 stations providing Chicagoans and visitors with access to historic Chicago.
